My Natural Hair Journey after my Big Chop - 8 months later

If you have kept an eye on my social media, you will see what a huge transformation I have achieved with my hair.
I am about to give you some tips and tricks that I have done take better care of my hair, but first here's my journey.

First and most important do some research about your hair before you get ready to grow it out so that you have a better understanding about your hair texture and what works better for you.
I have discovered that I have type 3B hair which is very curly defined hair with loads of volume.

Yes, my hair has been chemically damaged which I had no choice but to do the big chop with my hair.  It is very important to do this step, it will give you a fresh new start. Yes, its a scarey first step but trust me it's worth it.  So this is how it looked like February 2016 after doing the big chop.

After doing the big chop, that's when your commitment starts which means minimal straightening and hair drying.  I would probably straighten my hair once every 2 months.
Also make sure you use natural good products on your hair.
I used Palmers Coconut Oil Formula on my hair only.  No fancy smancy Treseme or ARGAN oil products.  Come on they are good product brands, but not for my hair type.  I needed something some natural.

Also I always used coconut oil for my hair.  Whenever my hair was dry.  I would feed it with all natural coconut oil, the ones you get in the medicine like bottles.

This is what my hair looks now 8 months later.  Note that this picture was taken in October 2016
I will be keeping you updated on my natural hair journey,  my next length check will be in 6 months.

I hope this post helped out all you natural girls out there that wants to make better choices for your hair and take better care of it and just embrace your hair because it is yours.
